Foong Foong Yong Tau Foo (鸿鸿安邦酿豆腐) @ Pekan Ampang

Tonnes and tonnes of good comments and reviews by very very satisfied customers. I really really have to give my thoughts on this very very epic Yong Tau Foo eatery.

Sorry for the doubles, guess i am missing that place already!

So for the past few weeks i've been craving for Yong Tau Foo, well at least something other that all those spicy and heaty food.

300 - rise of an empire (an epic fail?)

As a huge fan of the movie 300 (2006), i have to say something about the sequel film, rise of an empire, i just have to! Finally had a chance to catch up with the movie after the school exam.

First of all here's a simple comparison of both movie.

Gerard Butler        or     Sullivan Stapleton                  ?
King leonidas      or      Themistocles                         ?

Fighting on land   or      Sea combat                             ?
Brawn                or       Brain                                       ?
Spartans             or      Athens                                     ?
Warrior at birth   or      Farmers and painters                ?
Queen Gorgo      or      Artemisia                                 ?

Both movie have the same bloody slow-mo kinda fighting sequence.
But does rise of an empire gives the same epic feel as the latter?

Queen Gorgo
Queen Gorgo: Do not be coy or stupid, Persian. You can afford neither in Sparta!
Messenger: What makes this woman think she can speak among men?
Queen Gorgo: Because only Spartan women give birth to real men!

Queen Gorgo being Queen Gorgo, speaking like a true spartan lady.

Artemisia
Eva Green definitely showed versatility in acting here from acting as a bond girl alongside Daniel Craig in 007 Casino Royale, to a general leading the Persian army - Artemisia, goth/punk chick, greek by blood, persian at heart.

Tokyo Kitchen - (东京厨房) @ Setia Walk, Puchong

Dinner dinner dinner, where to where to, that's always a problem for the both of us, but then we came across this very nice japanese restaurant. Looks decent with all the wooden wishing planks hanging outside the place.

The interior's awesome and gives out a very "japanese" feel to it with all the wooden furniture inside.

Wooden wishing planks
Okay, phase one - the exterior/interior, Check
off to phase two! - the food.

The red menu

Salmon set
The gf is a huge fan of salmon! This set fit in perfectly with her taste-buds, not my cup of tea though, i find eating raw fish weird, just don't like the fishy cold texture to it, i prefer my grilled chicken.

Another thing to note, the side dish actually blend in pretty well with the main course. Which is a good thing cause i always ignore those sides whenever i go for korean/japanese food.

Stratosphere - The roof

Stratosphere - The roof (integrated f&b entertainment hub)

From what i know, the roof started opening to public just last year @ 1st of November 2013.

I had a chance to tag along with my brother to a gathering @ The roof, my first experience up at the roof can be summed up with a single word - "breathtaking". Yes, due to the very bad haze on that day, breathing outdoor way up on top of the roof came up as more of a challenge than expected. On a brighter note, the beautiful lighting around the roof at night did cover up for the bad weather.

Aside from the smokey treat we had that night, The roof spells of anything but below average, coming in as Asia's first and only luxury bar on top of an infinity grassed helipad, guests can have a 360-degree view of the entire city area and almost the whole of klang valley.

Good hangout place for couples and friends. (1 couple were even spotted "pak thor-ing" on the same spot for the entire time we were there! On such hazy night, their love do deserve more salutations.)

A relaxing environment to be in

A simple yet delicious dish passed down by my grandmother to my mum and now to me.

My 1st time with NIVEA’s rinse off body lotion

OHH trust me, NIVEA's rinse off body lotion is goood, so good i gave my body to it, literally!

Makes me happy in the shower

I personally am not a big fan of applying body lotion on my body mainly because of the sticky feeling it gives especially under hot weather, and as a guy, i don't find it that necessary. Imagine a guy applying body lotion in the LRT on the way back from work. Hand sanitizer is acceptable, but body lotion, come on man!

I dedicate this post to my new domain. ivantanjw.com

Thanks to my brother (isaactan.net) for giving me ideas for the name and my brother in law (marcsjy.com) for making the editing and refurnishing process so very easy.

I feel like a kid now, having finally own a domain of my own after all this while being in blogspot.com. I can't help but feel excited for myself.

Hopefully with this new domain i am able to be more committed and hardworking in writing more quality posts.

Lastly, Thanks for wasting your time here reading my shiok-sendiri post.

I love you guys!

My nephew - Baby Martin

I was thinking of something special to write about, and i realized i haven't blogged about my precious nephew yet when i should have in the past few months!

Cute Energetic Smart Expressive Determined Funny Snuggly Mischievous Bubbly Cheeky Greedy(for food),
i can go on the whole day and nothing is even close to finish describing this nephew of mine.

How's it like being an uncle, people might ask. Well being an uncle feels a tad bit like being a papa myself, of course i get to minus out all the milk feeding/late night chores/shopping for baby items etc etc.

Look how small Martin used to be

BookUp - The only 'Bookstore' you'll ever need.

Being a university student myself, i couldn't ask for anything better than to come across this website online. Now i have a home for my beloved textbooks thanks to bookup.my

A lot of times students tend to resort to photocopying hundreds of pages of textbooks due to the overwhelming price tags on those new books. Now i'm glad to say that their problem will soon be coming to an end through this new upcoming secondhand online bookstore - BookUp

BookUp is an online platform for students, professionals and basically anybody from all backgrounds to sell and buy secondhand books at a marked down cost.

Let's be honest, would you rather spend over a hundred ringgit on brand new textbooks only to see them for a semester, or spend 20 ringgit on a used one? Well i'd go for the latter one if you ask me.

A visit to the website at http://bookup.my appears to be a rather fun ride, having a simple and compact layout as well as user friendly interfaces, there's no way anybody'd get lost over there.

An example of how simple it is to sell your used books in their website.

Hurry up and visit their website for further information!

100 Doraemon secret gadgets expo

14th december 2013 - 23 march 2014

Hurry up guys, 100 Doraemon secret gadgets expo will soon be coming to an end! 3 weeks to go!

Here are some of the pictures taken during the visit last christmas. :)

Went there together with my gf and 4 other friends, was the doraemon expo worth the RM25 entrance ticket they asked. Well if taking tonnes of pictures with the cute little blue robot cat is your kind of thing, then yes it's well worth your money, although i'd prefer the price to be around RM15 to say it's completely worth it.

What's available in the expo?

Tonnes and tonnes of Doraemon merchandises, ranging from cute doraemon backpacks, little keychains, plushies, to the doraemon's favourite food, the dorayaki. Anything you can think of related to doraemon can be found here in the expo.

A pose with the over achiever Hidetoshi Dekisugi.
Cute us? lol
Being taught a lesson by the angry neighbour.
The ladies and Shizuka.

Well what are you waiting for, this Doraemon expo is the first to be held in the South east asia, don't miss out the chance!

Visit http://www.100doraemon.com/  for more info.
