Penang nyonya style "claypot" chicken rice |
Ingredients (for 4 to 6 person) :
- Rice - 3 cups (soak for 1hour)
- Chicken wings - 6 pieces
- Mushrooms - 1 cup, sliced
- Garlic and Onion
- Marinate ingredients together with- salt, sugar, 5 spice powder, sesame oil, black soy sauce, light soy sauce, pepper, cooking wine, oyster sauce ***Use a teaspoon of each except pepper
- LAP CHEONG (chinese sausage) - 1 pair
Method
- In a medium sized rice cooker, pour in 2 tablespoon of cooking oil.
- Sauteed/fry all the marinated chicken+mushrooms together until 1/2 cooked.
- Throw all inside rice cooker.
- pour in rice and water( adjust water accordingly to around 3/4 inch above rice level ) into rice cooker.
- Cook until rice becomes soft.
- Pour in chinese sausage (LAPCHEONG), cook for another 10mins
- Serve hot.

ReplyDeleteMaybe not... I was saying that it looks so good, overflowing with goodies. I love claypot rice and there was a stall here once but it closed down. Now maybe I can try and cook myself, thanks for sharing...or I can drop by to see you when I go over to KL, hint hint to your mum... :D
